Color Play - Colored Lights

This page shows the interaction of various colored lights. These lights can be combined to make new colors. All colors of light added together will give white. The RGB (red-green-blue) color system, used by televisions and computers, is based on light.

Note: Actual lights will produce different colors. For instance, yellow lights tend to be brighter than blue lights.

Click on a spotlight to turn it on. Spotlights that are turned on will have a green power light.

• Turn on lights that are opposite each other; such as red/cyan, green/magenta, or blue/yellow.
• Turn on two lights that are next to each other.
• Turn on three lights that are next to each other. Turn off the center light. Turn on the next lights on each side.
• Turn on lights that are 1/3 away from each other (such as red, green, and blue; or cyan, yellow, and magenta).
• Turn on all lights but one.
